I'm a misogynistic oaf.

So Adam Proteau had an interesting article at THN yesterday, about Carrie Milbank, the host of The Hockey Show on NHL.com. He starts off by saying he has "no time for misogynist oafs who believe women don’t have any place in the hockey". Well Adam, I am one of those oafs. Kinda.

You see, I'm not saying every chick in the hockey media got her job because she was a girl, but a huge amount of them did. Are you telling me that Carrie Milbank got this job 100% because she was the best qualified person for it? Do you think that maybe she got the job because she is retarded hot, and the prodominantly male audience of hockey tends to favor her unique assets? If she was 220 Pounds would she still get the job? Hmmmm...I wonder?

But maybe I am being unfairly harsh. Maybe she knows her stuff. Let's see, you mentioned how she was born in the hockey hotbed of Houston, and how she fell in love by playing a video game from 1988. Those are great starts, but where did she really refine her knowledge of the game? Oh, when she got the job she went out and bought a copy of "Hockey for Dummies"? Wow, I bet thats how Pierre McGuire started out too.

The thing is, most of the woman in the hockey media are hot (sans writers), and there is a reason for it. It may not be the right reason, but it's there. Again, I am one of those oafs. I like to watch hockey with guys, and I like to get my score at night from guys. It's not a misogynist thing, it's just the way it is. I have no problem having a woman read me the news, because world affairs aren't an escape for me to just drink some beer and hang out with the guys. Hockey is.

Anyways, I've only been awake for 15 minutes, and my head isn't quite working yet, but I think I made my point. Now I'm going to go pour myself a bowl of cereal, and watch some PVR'd Kids in the Hall. Ah, days off...you got to love 'em.

Note: I also think that people in the hockey media should also have at least played hockey at some level, but thats a topic for another day.

Grammatical error:

"The thing is, most of the woman in the hockey media are hot (sans writers),..."

it should read "most of the womEn..."

if you want to criticize people and come off sounding like a smart-ass you better not fuck up on your spelling and grammar and risk the chance of sounding like a total idiot. PROOFREAD BEFORE PUBLISHING!

- from a smart woman, who is also hot, but has not earned anything on the merit of her good looks, and prides herself on earning what she has through her wit and intelligence.

whoa, settle down there sweet pants. check number 5 of HockeyDump's guidelines ; Spelling and grammar is stupid. Like your Mom. It's right there in black and white.... also, he just woke up.

-from an even smarter man whose mom says he's handsome.

also, are you sure you've never gotten anything because of your "looks"? think long and hard about that statement. free drinks at the bar count you know...and if you haven't gotten a free drink then you are not hot.

Hold on there mr. h-tard...if anonymous 1 is hot, like she claims to be, then she gets my vote no matter how over-reactive and illogical her argument.
To sum up - paper beats rock, hotness beats logic.

I just like how she couldn't come up with a valid argument so she attacked the spelling of a word. I hope she's not a lawyer.
